Now remember, I am new to PBEM, so I may be doing something wrong. I got the game file you sent and attempted to load it. When I do so, I get an error message, then another, and then the game bombs out and the downloaded file is gone. What am I doing wrong?

Missing game file?!?!?!?!?!

Looks to me, like some file might be missing on your computer.
 
If so, a reinstallation might do the trick....(?)

That is a wierd one for sure.
Are the EiANW files gone?
 
You should simply have to "BEGIN NEW GAME" then "LOAD PBEM GAME" then enter your email address then select your start game file and then you should be at the Russian setup phase.
 
Reboot your machine then try.
If that does not work then reinstall EiANW BUT you should not have to do this???

Just noted, Ray, your email in the bid results file is just 'RayKinStL'.
With no domain name.
 
Depending on what email you enter, of course, but could that cause problems ??

You know, I didnt even try to play the game normally to make sure it worked.  I tried using the "updater" in the Matrix folder, which rolled me back to 1.02k, which I then overwrote with a fresh download of 1.03.14.  All this may have screwed up the game such that I just need to uninstall and re-install.  I will try that tonight.  Also, I did notice my email address was messed up in the bid file, and needed to ask Marshall to fix it for the game.

It should be easy for me to invalidate an email address (No domain) before game start.

Also, I am at work and would like to install the game on my work PC (Productive, eh?).  I have my serial number, but can not find a download button on the website (except for BETA updates).  The betas are updates, right?  Not jsut stand alone versions of the game?  I have my CD at home and can bring it in tomorrow, but I'd prefer to download and do it now.  Do I have access to redownload the game (I purchased the electronic and physical copy of the game initially)?

The BETAs are updates only and not stand alone.
You might be better off installing with CD tomorrow.

The sooner you can get an updated file out with the correct email address, the better.  I uninstalled and re-installed and am still getting the same errors.
