Things I like and dislike

I'm a sucker for any WWII game that covers the whole ETO.

This game is far from perfect but it has some things that I really like.
As Germany when I invade Russia my army that looks huge in Poland looks tiny once the invasion starts. Most computer wargames don't give me this feeling.
The map is big enough to provide maneuver room but not so big as to make me lose track of my units.
I like the idea of only 1 coordinated attack per turn per unit. This is a nice touch.
I like the reasearch. It is simple but it does a good job allowing improvements of the key areas in a game of this scale.
I like the fact that only one countries units move and fight at one time. This keep allies from acting as a single entity.
I like the way supply is handled with one exception noted below.
I like the game itself, it's fun.

It also has some things I don't like.
I don't like the naval system at all. In fact I don't have a clue on how it works.
I don't like the instant building of new units.
I don't like the instant full supply ability of a captured city.
I don't like the unlimited build capacity of units.

Overall I don't regret buying the game at all.

Looked at this title. Seems interesting, like another decent PBEM WW2 ETO. I am curious if it's good, but you have to buy to know. I have owned most of the other ETO games, I think nearly all of them, so this one would really have to be something...at this point... Commander Europe At War is the only I did not buy because of the programming languageĀ

P.S. I'm a bit bored of Strategic Command Series, I loved 1 and 2...but I am just bored with them now

P.S.S. Third Reich, High Command, etc... the 90s era games are way too old and way too impossible to play now regularly

P.S.S.S. HOI is a good game in my opinion, but the RTS feel is a different Genre.

I agree with you on the likes. The dislikes I agree with you on- the instant build. I don't like that. I buy a corp and "Boom" there it is. Should take more time.

and the terrain graphics is real old school.[>:]
