Is it possible to add a nation without modding the platoon file or weapon or main files? I think the answer is no because all are interrelated.

I think the answer would be no. In addition, I believe there has to be a slot available which is hardcoded into the game. You could swap out a minor country for your new one but that still leaves you with the problem of platoon & weapon files. [:(] It would be nice if in the future we could have two extra slots (one for an Axis nation, one Allied) to play around with.

this is true but the weapons and platoon files are locked so the point is moot

What additional country do you need?

Making a mod for your own personal use, you could use one of the existing countries that you have no interest in.

The platoon and weapon files can be encrypted as soon as you post them to the forum.

the point was this: In the old way you could add a country ot 2 at your discretion. I always kept and ran 2 copies on my machine. one was for developement and the other playtesting. I like to make sure that any type of mod that I did do was painless to the person who wanted it. The idea of adding a country was keeping the integrity of the game while increasing flexibility. There are several minor countries i would like to add but they used both axis and allied weapons. They played a minor role in certain campaigns but vital non the less. It is fine about locking files makes no difference. I will just speak to my freinds about the game and point them elsewhere or to purchase an old talonsoft version. You know it just isn't about my ability to do this but many others that test games on other peoples computers to see if they like them. People ask me and I tell them the truth they would be beeter served finding a different avenue if they wish to add or delete elements of this game. Just curious, it is extremely boring sitting in a barracks without a pass and have a laptop. What do you do? you play games. How do you know about these games? word of mouth most of the time. That is really how I discovered the talonsoft series. I read about the modding capability in this and I was hooked. I created battles, Linked campaign games, Modded the Dynamic aspect for leaders etc. I added a  leader SHAEF, Eisenhowers pic etc. This was fun for me in this game. Creation, Testing, Researching, Testing more, Playtesting then giving the final to my freinds. That is what I enjoyed Jason. So I have lost Interest in this. So I will sporadically post ideas and such but I won't purchase another Matrix Game.

And you still can if you keep a 1.02 install for modding.
