Ok, I've just finished a fight through 1945 (hopefully that lets you know I'll play to the end) and I have one game in mid-43. I'd like another game. Both games I've played so far have been as the Allies and candidly I haven't even looked at the Japanese side. But I would be willing to play either side as long as if someone who wants me to play the Japanese understands they are getting a pretty good rookie. Open to rules, but prefer minimal

I am interested in playing as Japan but I have never played any PBEM game so I may need some help with the mechanics.  I am also unsure what is expected of a PBEM opponent.  Do we execute one or several turns per day as time permits ; How long do these games usually take, etc

Mechanics are pretty simple.   If you are playing the Japanese, you would end your turn and then email the combat save (001.pws and whatever slot number or turn is in).

Turns, i can generally play 3-4 a day after the first turn.  If you can't, its not that big of a deal, just send turns when you can.  The full stock game is per day turns, although I would be open to 2 day turns if you like.  So it really depends on how many turns are played daily, but its not uncommon for the game to last  12-18 months.

Hope that helps.

Yes. That helps. I notice that there are a lot of people that use house rules of one kind or another. Would you be opposed to turning the historical 1st turn off with some kind of limitation on number of port attacks or invasions without air cover.

I'm not looking to land in india or anything like that but i think i could make better use of the jap units on the 1st day.

if not - no big deal - i just don't know if i can give you a good enough challenge.

Sure.  I am happy to take into account any house rules you like.  And as far as I am concerned, you can land anywhere you like.

Since you are playing Japan, you will need to set the game up.  Set it up as a play by email game, make your first move and then hit the end turn key and save your game in any slot (except 190 and 191).  Then email me the combat save file (001.pws) and the actual turn _ _ _.pws (whatever the save slot is).   I'll play my turn and return it to you.  Then we are off.

There will be no witp001.pws file for the initial turn. It will be generated when the Allies send back the initial turn.

Ok, I'll set up the game and start my first turn. It may take a few days to complete it. I can email you to keep you posted on the progress. ok?

I assume you guys are already into a couple of turns.  I suggest that the Japanese player also send the combat.txt file.  That is "gospel" even if the synch bug bites.
