Has anyone ever tried...

...to simulate the use of a retractable roof dome for a team in a league?
I know there is the Open Dome stadium (which I have), but there's no way to "close" the roof if the weather is bad.
I guess my question is, has anyone tried to have a team in an open stadium with fair weather, and a dome in inclement weather? (Even if it's just a swapping of graphic files)

Oh that would be easy all you would have to do is edit the StadiumData.txt I could set one up if you want me to just ask.

OK how do you people do it? I know about editing the stadiumdata.txt file to make it a dome or not, but how do you close the roof?

Oh you have to have a stadium already with a dome then just switch the dome roof bmp to a pink bmp and it's transparent. That is the easiest way to do it if you haven't done it before.

Or you can keep the roof graphic and have it part the way open
by creating a roof with visible beams and pink out a section in the middle

How do you swap it? Just rename the files? Or can you write a batch file to do the swap? (Do batch files even exist anymore?)

you can either just swap the graphics or rename it in the buildings document
either way work just as well

It would be a nice wish list feature to have the game do it automatically along with other weather effects.

Agreed, would save on the swapping of files
