Mod questions.

Guys, I have been viewing all of the mods (got the mod enabler and flags) but see a lot of dead links. I am now tinkering with my game (the flags are great!) but what do I do with the new units? Use these for random battles?

Hi Toozasl,

I will check them out. Thanks for pointing it out!

Cougar, I rechecked later tonight (Saturday, August 23) and no longer had problems. Cool. Next I will try to download the scenarios. I can't figure out what to do with the two folders in order to have each new scenario register. Any step-by-step advice would be greatly appreciated!

Great!

About 1/3 of the scenarios is in JSGME format making it easy to install/uninstall the scenario again. You can read a lot more about JSGME here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1773663

You will have to install the rest of the scenarios by hand, i.e. copy the file(s) from the downloaded file to: "<root of your Kharkov folder>/Data/Scenarios".

So my advice is to read through the MODs forum thread and see if its available in JSGME format, not all MOD creators release their mods in this format, but some (mostly me) "convert" it to JSGME.

I was thinking about collecting all our MODS into one download per type, i.e. one with scenarios, one with new units etc and make every mod JSGME compatible.

Cougar,

I think it's a great idea but perhaps keep the stand alone mod links available ... this way you will be the only one responsible for keeping the "single" download type up to date.

Also, mods like my "DEMO" shouldn't be included since it's not a real mod but just a sample of what can be done. My reasoning is that maps that are not complete may introduce bugs into the RBG and RCG system ... this is the main problem I've found with mods that introduce new units or templates.

The only scenario that won't run (gives me a CTD) is "The Capture of Balta". The others work just fine. Now on to the other stuff--maps, skins etc...
Great work everyone! Woo-hoo! This game just keeps getting better and better![&o]

Uh Oh - I better look at that. Are you using the JGSME version?

Thanks,
Rick

I am using the link provided in the MODS compiled thread. Do I use the mod installer for the scenario? if so, what do i do differently than with the other successfully installed scenarios?
