OK, I've been convinced, and bought the game. This is my first Ageod game, so I'm confused about some of the concepts, namely in force management. Is there no feature to click on each successive force, rather than scrolling all over the map?

The campaign demo proved to be the clincher, so you guys have drawn me in. I've been encouraged to read more about the military events (see http://www.history.army.mil/books/AMH-V1/ch03.htm )

I have to admit this -- historical inaccuracies aside, "The Patriot" is one of my favorite movies, and yes it DID influence my decision to buy this game. So did the magnificent HBO series "John Adams", which WAS historically based.

Taken together, one gets the picture of an immensely complicated state of affairs, and the game takes this into account.

The best way to move from stack to stack is using hotkeys

E and R will cycle through land units without orders. T and Y will do the same with naval units.
Check page 57 from the manual for a complete list of shortcut keys. There are a lot!

I went ahead and got this one too. I think it's because AGEOD released demos for their games that I felt I should show some appreciation and support them. I haven't gotten too deep into it yet, but it seems pretty good. It's also nice to see a game from this period instead of the million WW2 etc titles out there.


I really wish they would get more detail in the battles though, I guess I'm spoiled by War Between the States. If they could add a system like that, I'd be really happy becuase the AGEOD system does have some things like cohesion that WBtS doesn't have.
