Terrain effects calculations in combat

I just want to confirm how these work in practice.
Attacking (or defending) a Capital, for example, an armoured unit will suffer two penalties:
-35% Attack Penalty
-35% Armour Attack Penalty
My understanding is it would be [Value] x 0.65 x 0.65, not [Value] - 70%.
Attacking a unit in forest would attract 2 penalties for armour:
-10% Attack Penalty
-15% Armour Attack Penalty
My understanding is it would be [Value] x 0.90 x 0.85, not [Value] - 25%.
I assume this is correct because in mountain the effect is -50% and -50%, which would mean armour couldn't attack in mountains. So it is actually [Value] x 0.50 x 0.50.
Can someone confirm these, please. Just trying to figure out how combat odds work.
