Forum Timing Out Faster

It seems like the forum is timing me out at as faster pace than I remember.
While typing in, or pasting the text to somewhere with a spell checker and pasting back I find that the session has timed out and as Guest I can't post and my text is all lost.
Before I press OK to post I now must highlight and cntrl-C to insure the post is saved.

I'd like to comment on it, but I'm afraid I get logged out while typing another batch of nonsense [:D]

What browser are you using?
I am using Firefox 3 and I do not seem to have those problems.

You guys aren't alone. It's been going on since the forums moved to their new servers. See this thread:

Hi guys, I have updated a setting on the server.
Since I could not replicate the problem though, could you guys try posting now and let me know if its still happening for you?

Faster time out is not only while trying to post. Even just reading a long post is enough for not being able to change to another thread or sub forum. Everytime have to close my browser (firefox 3.0). Matrix webside seems to be the only one with this behavior. Not even The Wargamer acts this way. Its is annoying.

I used Netscape, Foxfire and IE, all 3 get logged off, at times each time you try to post
today has been very bad
and just in case, just happened about 5 minutes ago again

Sarge, does it happen every time you try to post, or only sometimes?
Also, what if you click the Post Reply button to bring up the reply window, but then close it without submitting it. Does that log you out too, or is only when you actually try to submit the form?
I'm using Firefox3 as well, and still cant replicate the problem.

it does not happen all of the time, just sometimes and today, yesterday it has been bad again
it can happen when I try to post, it can happen when I am reading a post, it can happen when I am in the forum, just sitting around

just posted a screen shot, and two posts explaining what it was showing, then when I went to finish the 2nd post it logged me off
twice it wouldn't let me log back in, the 3rd time it did (had to shut down fourm and come back)
and it just logged me out before I could post this

and just logged me off after posting that

it is logging me out faster then I can log in right now
it will show me successful log in, show my name at the top of the post, when I get to the bottom of the post to write something, I am already logged off
I had to go to IE to try to post this

for what it is worth, it seems like the General Fourm is worse then the beta or other fourms ????

Yes, it is indeed bad. I have been logged out a couple times this morning.

I am looking into the issue with the server to try and fix it asap.
In the meantime, you can also log in using cookies instead of sessions by ticking the "Save as Cookie" tickbox. This should help the situation, and prevent you from being logged out when the site loses its sessions.
