Interesting, shame they dont take Training into account.10 million people with bows and arrows as a formidable force even facing 1 million with modern weapons.Thats why the Chinese will win!

It doesn't have to leave it's continent...ICBM progresssaw to that.
Besides, doesn't Sun Tzu say that underestimating your enemy is your deadliest enemy? If he didn't he should've...god knows history has taught us that! Although it seems some don't learn.

The Chinese are too busy taking over the economies of the Western World. Russia is a bigger threat.

Sadly the current biggest threats are probably rogue elements in any nuclear-armed army.

They do take it into account actually - that's the "quality" value.

A big army doesn't mean much unless your figthing on or near your home turf, very few armies in the world have the ability to deploy and supplied half way around the world during combat operations.

Exactly right. Pad. Combat operations are but a small portion of the military planning processus. Logistics is the other huge monster that must be addressed prior to the atual fighting. Just think of the ratio of non-combattants needed to keep the fighting men in the field (anywhere from 7-10 for every 1 that fights, and that's not even counting civilian support staff)

Yep, that's rated as "support" in the rankings.

...powerful reserve based armed forces.
[X(] . This is what they say about Sweden!? Looking at the debate in Swedish media about defence budgets, this sounds overrated to say the least. [:D]
