OK -AE is coming
another 4 years of our lives going down the gurgler[8|][:'(][:D]
We will be seeking opponents WHO STAY the distance
So Im starting a list
Its simple -to nominate a player -they have to have reached mid 44 at least, played very regularily, fairly, and with an adaptible attitude.
narrows it down a bit -and I know a lot of players might qualify for up to 43 games -but that doesn't make this list[:'(]
So - made it to mid 44 -and is on the AE list:

I lke it cantona2!!!! -I like it[8|]
This list prompted by certain AARs where opponents disappear when things go bad -especially Japanese players.
I thought it would be good to list players we know who have made it to mid 44 with out quitting - really, for AE, they are the opponents we want.
Over the years these forums have seen a lot of "flash in the Pans" -who then quit after 6 months or more.
But a lot of games are not AAR'd -so if you have an opponent who does go the distance -let us know!

Many games that have had an AAR (mine for instance) continue, even if the AAR is not updated.
I nominate Halsey and Warspite. I lost to Warspite in Jan 45, and it looks like I'm about to Lose to Halsey as soon as 45 comes around (Now in August 44)

I am in February 1945 in my game with Paul Layne and mid-January 1944 with Canoerebel and I's "Forlorn Hopes." Would still be in the Mandrake "From Here to Eternity" campaign but for life intervening...

I'm keeping mine to myself - find your own, I saw them first! [:'(]
Edit Well as it's a tribute to his fortitude - I have had a game into 1944 with Scout1. We have another one mid '43 and a further one late '42. He never gives up and is a good friend as well as an opponent. I am looking forward to learning AE with him. My hat is off to my other opponent 1EyedJacks, but we have not got far enough to qualify for this list.

Yeah, Miller. I've played against Miller twice - he was the Japs in a full UV game, and then played the Japs in our WitP game. He stuck both games out to the very end - long after things had turned totally sour for the Japs. He never gives in; he never reduces his number of turns; he never complains (except for occasional humorous remarks that might hint at some irritation after, say, a major battle goes wrong).

My opponent Hemajor is excellent. 2-3 turns a day, a note if it's not there. We're in early '44. Highly recommended.

Many thanks, Japan, and I return the nice remarks by saying Japan is an outstanding and highly reliable opponent. His attention to detail has caused me much pain in our game. I'm learning a lot from him.

Anton Farr is my opponent and we are in mid 1944. He is great about returning turns and a good joe.
