End around?

Its summer of 1915 and the war grinds on. Belgium is a wasteland. French, British and German troops are locked into a nasty, nasty war up there. As the Germans I am stuck. Its a mess. The Entente is taking a ton of casualties. I have entrenched most of my forces in Belgium. There seems like there is no hope of moving forward.

To the south I have reduced all the French forts to level zero with my siege arty and have taken Verdun. The French lines seem weak. I am thinking of quickly moving a bunch of my Corps from Belgium via rail and do an end around into southern France. With some luck I can maybe smash throught the lines and run on to Paris.

Anyone have any luck with a southern attack? Belgium is just a wasteland and the cost to push through will be a tough one to swallow.

Sure. Shifting your attacks along the line is the way to defeat France.

The British start arriving in larger numbers in 1915 and of course Italy will probably join the Entente.  Both of those take some of the pressure (and casualties) off the French.

i have noticed! the british are really landing in force in Belgium now. I am firmly entrenched and it is fall 1915. Luckily with a summer offensive i was able to push through the line and take 2 french forts and so far the breach is holding. I had to unleash a new weapon to do it though. Posion gas was used for the first time and sent the French running, allowing a smaller force of German troops to move in. If I can keep Belgium under control for a few more months I think the French could be in trouble as I am sending more and more corps through the breach every turn.

Great game.
