Harpooner Needs Help Installing

I have had Harpoon since way back but to be honest have not played it for a while. I recently bought a new computer which runs Vista 32 bit Home Premium. Before switching over to the new machine I copied all my Harpoon 3 files into a folder and saved it to an external drive. Naively I thought I could then just run the .exe file from there to play Harpoon 3 on my new machine. The folder contains .dlls, my lok and kee files plus folder s for battlesets etc. Reading the pdf manual it mentions an installation exe but I do not have that. Nor can I locate any disks as I believe I may have downloaded the version I have now. Can anyone help with perhaps manually installing the game or where I can find the installer program.
Would it be better to to just purchase the latest version of Harpoon 3 ANW instead? Any assistance much appreciated.
Cheers
Peter

Howdy Peter,
First, what version of Harpoon 3 do you have exactly?
Second, take a look at the harpoon3.ini file and look for any items configured for certain disk paths. If you have moved them to a different directory you will need to update several entries.
Third, what happens when you try to run the program as is?
Fourther, consider purchasing ANW for the multiplayer feature as well as plenty of bug fixes.
Thanks,

Since you mention Lok/Kee files, you must be playing Harpoon v3.6.3
I recently switched drives and did the same as you. There is no "installation" file, IIRC. It is only an Unzip and that should be fine. I did the same as you when switching drives to a newer one. I just moved the entire old H3 folder to my new drive and everything works just fine for me.
The new ANW plays differently from the H3 version you have. The ANW has MP capability and fixes a number of H3 problems, but has also created a number of new problems, too.
* Known Harpoon [ANW] Issues
I've heard of others using Vista and the old H3 without any problems.

HI Herman,
Boy that sure is a long list of bugs. Some of those would be really a pain in the butt. I will send you an email regarding getting the files I need to run H3. Yes my one is the earlier version 3.6.3.
Cheers
Peter

Peter,
The following link shows what we have addressed. The same site will also show you what has not been addressed. There is an ongoing effort to handle these issues with free updates. Be sure to select 'The List' project using the drop down list in the upper right hand corner.

Indeed, there is no known compatibility issue with Vista at this time. You might run into issues with security as the installer requires Administrator access.
As a formality I have to let you know that Herman is in no way affiliated with AGSI, the makers of Harpoon. I'm sure he will assert the same.
Thanks,
