are new patches included in the game?

I'm thinking of buying GoA--my question is if I buy it will the new fixes already be included on the cd--or do I have to download ?Thanks --
When I downloaded the game (no-CD) in June I got version 1.20. I had to download the 1.23 patch also (65 MB).
