Suggestions for Next Patch/update

Well, I've been playing the game, and gotten deep into HDS9: A Slippery Slope where things got really crazy, with 100~ planes downed on both sides, and ships shooting their AAW armament dry. [:D][X(]

I've also been playing around with the editors, and one thing I noticed; is that it's relatively hard for a neophyte to add ship names to the game to be used in the Scenrio Editor.

For example; USS America was ordered as the second ship in the Enterprise class, as CVAN-66, but due to rising costs, she was re-ordered as a repeat Kitty Hawk; same happened to CVAN-67; the third ship -- was reordered as a conventional carrier, which became the John F Kennedy.

Right now, you're limited to a single CVN-65 class in the "CommonDB"; which makes hypotheticals much harder to do.

Sure, you could load up the CommonDB, add the names you want in the Platform Editor, then re-export, and use that in the game; but I don't think many people have that competency or knowledge. So I mocked up this hypothetical screen; for when you exceed the names allocated for a ship class. A new dialog button that would allow you to type in your own name (it's up to YOU to remember what you typed in, so you don't get repeating Enterprises -- and it doesn't edit the database files; so you have to remember the names each time, instead of them being added to the list)

While we obviously look here, if you have the patience for forums, please create a wishlist at http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showforum=35

True, not many people have a handle on the Platform Editor (PE).  I'm also not sure changing the scenario file structure so that a name could be changed in the Scenario Editor (SE) is more efficient than producing better documentation for the PE.  If we had people willing to write documentation and video tutorials then my argument might hold water [&:]

Anyway, while slowly plucking away at bugs I'm also planning the first breakage of the scenario file format since late 2002 so you may get such a capability to change names in the scenario editor but that is still a long ways away time-wise.

And thanks [:)]
