Yes, our own forum member has had a hurricane named after him and his namesake is now sweeping through the Carribean the way he sweeps through his opponents.
You need to find a new game genre before you get yourself into trouble ....

there is actually not anything funny about it. When you see what Gustov did here in the US as just a Cat 2, and the monster they are saying this one could be, the islands and Cuba may take a pounding before it gets into the Gulf of Mexico. Really makes you feel for the people over there with as many times as they have had storms go through this season.

...and they still won't admit that climate change is breeding more and larger storms....

Climate change??? That's not real!! Don't you know, more drilling is the solution to the US energy crisis??? [X(] yes, I am kidding, but that is the basic stance of one of the political parties here...... You all down there power almost everything on ethonal don't you?

I live in Orlando but have rental property in West Palm. Every year starting on June 1st my blood pressure starts to go up with each new report from NOAA. Now they've upgraded their software so they can track every fart in the wind that comes off the African coast. A useful tool to be sure, but one that also adds to the anxiety.
Heaven help the Cubans, this thing is now a cat 4 and projected to steamroll the entire island.

Climate change??? That's not real!!
Since this entire thread is off-topic, I don't feel awkward addresing this; yes, there's "global warming," but only if you count every globe in our solar system, starting w/the melting of the "permanent" polar ice caps to the south of Mars to the measured increase in intensity of sunlight on Uranus/Neptune.
As for increasing storm intensities and the like, as we used to say when I taught earth science, "the only constant is change".

From as scientific point of view the "climate change" discussion is dubious. Awkwardly it was started by scientists....
You can not compare data from about 60 years and then asses the changes and make a prediction of an entity like our climate that already exists for billions of years. But if this helps to rethink our usage of our energy resources of which most are not infinite its maybe useful. But right now it seems that the only effect is on the value of which the resources are sold....[:@]

Who were operating under the auspices of the UN, that international institution of objectivity and virtue [8|]
The only tangible thing climate change "theology" has accomplished is to make Al Gore an Oscar-winning millionaire; what a performance!

The only thing the UN is certain of is corruption.
I was referring to the increase in the # of hurricane strength storms and their intensity.
Ethanol is called alcohol here in Brazil. No, it's not the primary fuel for vehicles though it makes up 20% of content of regular gas. It's a sham because what they don't tell you is that it offers less economy than gasoline so the price of it has to be less than 1/2 of gas to be worth it. I have a flex engine, can burn either or a mixture of both, and I prefer gas.

Two planets meet in space:
Planet A: How are you?
Planet B: I´m feeling bad.
Planet A: What´s wrong?
Planet B:I´m having Homo Sapiens
Planet A: Uh that´s bad, but don´t worry, I had the same. It will be over soon.....

No this is not true at all. It´s not even logical.
Imagine you have a person in a closed empty room. Then 3 other people come in this room and start smoking cigarettes. The first person says to the 3 people who came in smoking...your cigarette smoke is going to make the air toxic in here...change the climate.
So the 3 people smoking tell the non smoking person, you can not compare data about our smoking in here for just a few minutes in this room and then asses, and make prediction what the air quality will be in an hour because you were in this room alone for 5 hours.
That would make no reason. The same as saying putting enormous amounts of toxic chemicals in the enviroment will have no effect.
Obviously it will have an effect.

Awkwardly started by scientist?? That is the same as saying cancer risks to peoples health are awkwardly started by doctors.

The same as it is now: 0, but that's not the point.
Mars, Neptune, Earth, etc., all are experiencing some form of "global" warming, but aside from all being globes, what else do they have in common?
They all inhabit the same solar system w/the same sun, Sol; when Sol gets hotter, everything in its system gets warmer.

Ike, that's a closed sytem, and in nature, there are no closed systems, unless you think the earth is self-contained.
