Ground Combat

Something often overlooked...

I´ve seen many opponents who put down their ground forces and launch attacks in a very careless and disorganized fasion.

This is very bad.

-13.3 HQs and Ground Combat
Ground Division HQ’s provide a +20% ground combat benefit and Army/Corps HQ’s provide a +10% ground combat benefit. Ground units in the same hex with the Division HQ they are directly attached to will be 20% more effective in ground combat. Japanese Army/Allied Corps HQ’s provide a 10% benefit to all ground units within 6 hexes.-

If you follow the Army organization in both attack and defense your ground forces perform much, much better. As Japan this is really critical if you want to try and hold out to the end.

If as Japan you throw a Rgt here and a Rgt there you are losing up to 30% of your combat strength without the Allies doing anything to you.

Not only are you losing up to a 30% combat bonus to start but units supressed from being bombed and fighting, numbers in ¨()¨ tend to stay suppressed a long time. Those with support recover to keep fighting much faster.

So my advice is to well plan the layout of your ground forces even before the game begins to squeeze every advantage out of them.

pretty straightforward, but good advice. HQ's, no matter land or air, are in the game for a reason. Leaving them behind clearly is not good play. I wonder how it works if you have a div guarding a couple different islands, and split the HQ among them?

I´ve wondered the same thing. Before your ready to make anphibious assaults in our game though I´ll know.

I didn't see any positive effect from the non-parent units after splitting the air hqs for the Allied side, so I'm assuming the lcu bonus only applies to the parent unit. Big assumption tho.
