Have the latest update, but I get this message when i click 'play' button...

Run-time error: '2147221231 (80040111)':

Automation error
Class Factory cannot
supply requested class

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Did you try the Repair Database function in the utilities?

DT, did you install this over your current install, or do a fresh install from 2.0 or 2270?

Did a fresh install, but over nothing. I'd better try to install it over my current game. Will report back.

What did you install before the update?

As I recall, this error come up if you either do not have VB Script on the computer or are missing a .dll update.
 
I am not an IT tech, so perhaps someone who is will chime in.

Ah ... no .dll's to find, because they were not there.

Now, how can you make the Dragons do better? [8D]

I installed over 2.0. When I try to play a quick game it goes to the intro of the game but the screen is white. I can see slight shadows of the players running onto the field but the screen is white.

The game worked fine before the update.

I did a fresh install...first I used 2.2.70 Complete, and 2.2.90 update. I noticed a new DirectX thingy dated August 08 downloaded during that part of the install.
Not sure if thats the problem, but you could change the name of your current Max directory, and then do a fresh install of your base game, and then the update. See if that helps.
Even if it isnt the direct x thing, which it probably isnt, trying the fresh install might help. If it doesnt, you can always delete the new install folder and change the name of the old folder to get it back.
