I am suprised i don't see more constant.dat file sharing. I edit mine a lot and am curious about some of your own settings that you feel makes a good difference.

DreamTeams mentioned what he uses in his Metro Football League thread.  I only have made the players faster and more agile, and longer kickoffs; I haven't felt the need to play with QB accuracy.

I think that is a great idea. Now that we have our final product we should experiment with different settings for each league. We can have a seperate one for NCAA, NFL,Arena, and CFL. We can designate members to take on a task just like the madden sliders were done.

Should this be something I include in the Editor? An option to change constants in the constant.dat file?

If that is possible, then it would be great

settings in the constants file can be changed
similiar to madden sliders but in text

to change things like the chance of missed tackles and so on

I second that motion. Editing a .dat file is easy to do manually, but including it in your tools would be good for those not comfortable playing with the constants.dat file

I'd be very interested to see what others have in their .dat files - one of the things that I've struggled with is somehow blunting the kick returns and punt returns a bit as I've seen a slew of TDs in some builds.

Largely some changes to the coverage has helped, but the .dat allows so much control that it really is an awesome thing to have at one's hands.  The Simgame .dats are another fantastic thing provided.

Yes, and save a default just in case.

Hmmm, one could even put in sliders.

Oh yeah, great idea! Instead of typing in the numbers, just have sliders. Good call! And maybe even an import/export feature....

Great... giving myself more work to do and I haven't even touched it in like 5 days!!! ARGH! [;)]

This is most certainly true.

Should each league carry its own individual constants or should all leagues at the same level share the same constants (ie, professional constants [NFL, CFL, AFL], college constants [NCAA, CIS], high school constants [US, CDN]...)?

Sounds right to me.  I want to make it to where the game relies mostly on the player ratings vs the con.dat file if possible.

Does anyone remember the effects of raising or lowering the Man2Man Coverage constant? I want to loosen up the coverage, but can't recall rather to raise or lower the number.
