I've come across a bit of an issue. I'm playing France facing a coalition of Russia, GB and Prussia.

They are not surprisingly loaning corps to each other, but I can't find a way to find out which ones. So I have no idea which movement phase a particular corps is going to move in. This seems something of a disadvantage to me.

A text entry in the event log wouldn't help because it won't be able to tie in with the corps on the map. So really we need something on the map, ideally the corps counter would change, but easier would be an entry in the 'selected unit info' box.

Any thoughts before I log this as a request on Mantis ? Have I missed a way of finding this info ?

No, you are spot on. It must be public knowledge which nation moves which unit !
 
Also determines which units can attack together - crucial knowledge !!!! (Not only to France)

I absolutely agree. I haven't seen much loaning in any of my games so far, but this is vital information that needs to be made public.

I agree. Something as simple as changing the shading or color of the corps (or even the border, perhaps) might do the trick.

Yah; but just marking a particular corp as loaned may not be enough.  I could see the coalition trying something sneeky like having a corp from MP 'A' stacked with MP 'B' but actually LOANED TO MP 'C'.  and then using it to
cut supply or attack a critical rear area if/when France tries to move between allies.
 
(Question : how hard is it to change the corp's BACKGROUND color?  If that is reasonably easy; I would suggest setting the BACKGROUND to match that of the controlling MP.  Thus a corp with a Brit flag but a yellow background would be a British corp under AUSTRIAN control.  This would be done during the "resolve diplomacy" step at the end of the dp phase)

Border colour would be good. But presumably you'd just use one colour to indicate a corps is loaned rather than multiple colours to indicate who it is loaned to, so something else would be needed for that.

What about a simple rectangle just inside the border of the unit showing the color of the MP who controls it? i.e. Green rect inside the border rectanlge indicating Russia controls it?

That sounds great, but is there room for confusion there ? Are there enough distinct colours ? I think some sort of text information is probably needed too. Don't forget some players may be colour blind !

Text and color ought to cover it.

I would use the color that is used on the mini-map for home nation provinces. But, also change the border color to a new one to signify being on loan. The border color change can be for any loaned corps, with the small box showing to whom it is loaned.

Things have chilled out in the crash / block / major area so maybe I will have some time to add some fun things now.
