Does the play by mail game allow 2 players to play with one being US/UK and the other as France/USSR against Axis?

Yes. Game allows any combination of control (human/ai).

Glad you asked this question, because I have similar questions on PBEM. Would it be possible for those of you who have played PBEM to detail here how it works, and any gotchas?
