Loaned Cossacks in wrong pool

In our current game I play Prussia, and Russia loaned me 1 cossack unit that was destroyed in a subsequent battle against France.
The cossack unit is now in the Prussian force pool! I can also click on it and the game ask me if I want to place it, but there's no valid area to deploy it (Prussia has no cosacks area of course, and I cannot put it in a Russian area).

Wait, are you supposed to even be ABLE to loan cossacks?

I would have thought that because of the nature of loaning in EiANW you should be able to loan anything (it's a substitute for EiA combined movement).
A workaround would be to not loan cossacks, there is not much loss in not doing so since one of the major reasons for loaning (supply) is not applicable to them. Since their presence in an army is useful for losses but hardly decisive I don't think this is much of a loss.

The easiest thing would obviously be to return it to Russia before going back to the force pool.
Everything should be able to be loaned. This is the only way to properly emulate combined move.
Do you guys have this game right before the combat?

No, combat is already done and I noticed the bug only during the economic phase. Actually I think the bug would probably happen with corps too, if they're destroyed in combat while loaned.

From experience, a destroyed fleet, appeared in the "lend" allied counter pool.
But it is was returned during economic phase. during the right owners phase.
Cossaks could be special in this, depending when they got destroyed, since they can only be raised during levy step.
I do belive destroyed corps are returned eventually.

OK I've checked and the counter is now back in the Russian pool after the economic phase. Since the counters couldn't be repurchased / placed until the economic phase the only issue would be is the counter in the correct pool in time for them to be able to do this ?

Thinking about it I would guess that what is happening is that it is still treated as a lent unit even though it has been destroyed and will get returned to the correct pool when the lending lapses.

This is quite possible. I'll look into this and if I can find the problem code then I'll add to Mantis.

The problem might be worse for fleets/corps. In a pbm game im in,4 French lend fleets dissapered, and where around French eco-phase returned(log said 4 corps returned). Here we ran 1.02 patch. (the official 1.02k?)
We switched to 1.03k as it went official and are moving on.
The gameplay problem that can occour and maybe even ruin the entire game, is if the Fleets cant be placed back in the blockade they where. Not to mention that all ships need to be "recovered".
We havent reached the following French reinforcement phase yet. So its still open how it works.
But as said, it can ruin the game if it does not work propper.
