Hi. I am thinking about purchasing this game but I am not sure if my system will run this game with medium to high settings.
Here are my system specs.
- 2.8Ghz P.4
- 1 Gig of Ram
- 256 MB 7600 GeForce
Also, how are the damage models of this came compared to IL2?
Besides the AI, how is this game better than IL2?
Do you start as a low ranked pilot and move up as the game progresses?
How many avarage missions per campaign?
Thanks.

I just picked it up last week (I couldn't pass it up for $7.00 new at a Halfprice Books), and it seems to run fine on my system with slightly lower specs than yours (P4 2.4 & 128k vid). I haven't play it much at all yet, so I can't comment on the rest of your questions.

BOBII takes more processing power than IL2. You may need to cut back on some eye candy setting in BOBII (not max them out).
See the following link for some performance information:

Some say the BOBII damage models are very detail and accurate. They may not be as graphicly pretty as IL2 but some say IL2 is a bit over done and BOBII is really more accurate when compared to gun camera footage.
BOBII is really a different game than IL2. BOBII does many things better than IL2 and some not as good.
There is no ranking game progress system in BOBII.
The campaign has no set number of missions. You fly as many missions as it takes to win of loose the the 1940 BOB. You can play as the RAF or LUF commander or in Single Player camapign staying with the same squad.
