Defenses Too Good?

Does anybody else have issues with defenses in their leagues being too good? I've let the computer play 3 games in my new high school league (11 man, 12 min quarters, American rules) and there hasn't been a touchdown scored in any of the games. Scores were 6-2, 4-0, and 3-2. I'm not a big fan of baseball scores in my football games.

Which playbooks are you using?

What are the passing attribute ranges for the QB's?

playbooks, are all over the place. some teams are using ones i've downloaded off the internet, some are my own that i've created. the passing attributes for the QBs look to be in the 60's for PA and PS

about the only way the teams move the ball is through the air; running the ball is about impossible

Maybe you could try to adjust the ratings? For example slowing down DLs and LBs. I find adjusting the skill_attribute database ranges helps me get the gameplay the way I like it. For example I think the default players move too quick so I have reduced their speed dramatically and it results in less sacks and less tackles for losses.

Another adjustment I found useful is increasing LB intelligence and decreasing DB and DL intelligence. My league stats are more realistic because the LB make most of the tackles just like they do in real life.

So these are some examples of how you can use the skill_attribute database to change the gamplay. I only use the constants to fine tune things after I get the players rated the way I want.

In my high school league, my leading problem tends to lie in the QBs being inaccurate. The whole thing could lie in the ratings range, but I don't know what the recommended ratings should be. I do know MFB makes some of the players too short when placed under "High School" league type.

It looks like I'll have to download some playbooks and smoke them out.

As far as the QB ratings go, it may be a good idea to not drop them so much for lower levels of play.
