Simulated Games Too Slow

I'm using Simmer's NCAA league and have cut it down to 6 conferences (over 60 teams total). I only control/play one team and simulate the rest of the current weeks games. For the game to complete the week (34 games) it take almost two hours! I would hate to think how long it would take if I had left the other conferences in.
Is that normal?
I'm on week 4 and can live with it but it would be nice if maybe I'm missing something and the time could be cut down. [:)]

With Maximum Football, the sim actually sims the game rather than just approximates it with final stats.

The sim used to be a bit more quick, but as code was added to make it more accurate, it was slowed some.

So do simmed games now use the same engine as the 3-d game?  When was this added?  I have been playing all my games out because I thought simmed game stats came out totally different than the 3-d game.

The sim game does not use the 3D engine, but it does use many elements of the 3D game like some player attributes.

I don't have the complete information for you, because I didn't program it, but one can edit the simgame profile for each league to get results that will more closely match up to the game style being played in the 3D games.

Is the 'Animate Ball in Quick Sim' option checked?

With this option unchecked, quick simmed games take about 1 minute(15min qtrs)

With this option on, it was more like 4min per game.

To follow up, the Animate Ball option glides the ball downfield for the sim play result.  With it off, the ball just pops to the new LOS for the play result.

bbmike,

Just simulate games when you know you will have downtime, like overnight, while you are at school/work, when you cook dinner/chores/homework (I have no idea how old you are, so I'm just throwing suggestions out there).  Not a perfect solution, but I have plenty of things to do other than play football I can do when it comes to sim time.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. I'm 42 so I usually simulate the week when I would normally be doing homework. [:D]
