Should be interesting to see what the Russians do, they have very limited long range air assult or amphibious ability. I don't know if any of their helicopter crusiers are even operational any more. I bet they wish they had an aircraft carrier about now.

In the old days, if a bunch of Russian tanks went missing I would have assumed that they were intended for Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch.
If Michael Jackson is still living in Bahrain perhaps he'll soon start a new collection of weird stuff.

Please, 33 old T-72s! The Russians don't give a rat's ass about those. They're sending that frigate down there to continue the same posturing about "protecting Russian citizens" that led them to invade Georgia. Putin is flexing Russia's muscles.

They are sending a warship to join the pirate patrol down there.... care to start a pool on the over/under until something gets sunk?? I can hear the Russian commander now... well, it sure LOOKED like a Pirate!!!!

russia is going to increase its military spending by 23%!!!
23% is a lot of spanking new tanks light years better then T72. a new serie of multi purpose subs, new frigates, new tanks,aircraft. talk is that new sukov is better then F22.
agreed,somalia might be a nice place to start some trouble. now USA is over streeched,underfunded and cant afford more trouble, time is right for russia to get some back...

the western reaction about the solami islamic pirate problem ist weak..again.
few weeks ago, a helicopter from a german frigate came under light weapon attack from a priate boat. but instead of returning the fire, the germans only noticed the attack and took no further action against the pirates.
thats the same weakness like the british destroyer which stood by and did nothing to prevent that 15 british soldiers were captured by the "waffen SS" of the mullah dictatorship in iran (the revolutionary guards) or like the german navy patroling the libanese coast to prevent illegal weapon deliveries to the islamis hisbollah terror group while the hisbollah gets its weapons easily from syria.
"the west" will never understand that showing weakness only causes more and more problems when you face an islamic enemy.
if the western naval forces want and get the permission, they can eliminate the pirate problem at the somali coast in just 1-2 months.

That's because the enlightened western civilisation has outgrown such barbarism as returning fire.
Pirates have right to live too.
