Monster Game?

I'm not real big on "Monster" Games. This one seems to be in that category. My question is, is this game manageable with the AO's? Sixteen turns sounds about right for me, I'm just not sure about keeping track of hundreds of units!

For my taste it is big, but not monstrous...the map is of average size, but you have a lot to do in several areas. After the first (overwhelming) looks I now got used to it, I´d consider it being in the size of TAO and KP, but smaller than the Normandy campaign.
As for the AOs I have mixed feelings about them. I second all benefits that have been mentioned here, but when under pressure as a defender I feel too limited by their boundaries.

Treale I am very similar. I hate games with great big lines of units.
But this game is very manageable and, as I said in another thread, the AOs help break it down and make it more managable...although I think the number of units is just fine. I was dubious about 16 turns and one scenario, but I can see alot of playability here and 16 turns takes enough time to make myself think I've got planty of game here, but not too much as to be an ongoing war that I might not see the end of.
As Wallenstein says, with AOs you do feel restricted when on the defence...but as it happens, I don't really have anymore units that I could take from the frontline elsewhere to bolster another area. Besides, for me, I like the idea of being restricted with my forces.

Well, just don't forget...they are our opinions [;)]
It's a great game as far as I am concerned. I must be crap at it though, 'cos I read a post by someone that said he had decisively beat the AI on both sides...I am currently getting my arse kicked as Russians on Computer Axis Normal!

I too dislike monster scenarios.
This is not a monster scenario.
At the high tide mark, with maximum units on the map, it might take a max of 45 mins to play a turn

I think you won´t regret it...as proof you might want to compare JudgeDredd´s posts on the forums before and after he purchased it[:D]

How many scenarios are in this game? I got Battles in Italy and think it's a fantastic game but I was a little disappointed by the small number of scenarios.

Okay thanks for the reply. I'll probably buy it anyways cause the fighting at Kharkov is cool and I like to support this kind of game.
