hears a famouse photo :- http://www.daveswarbirds.com/navalwar/m ... rdisld.jpg
very sad, now I noticed theres a kingfisher to the right and a seagul, were thease independent or off ships in the harbour?
hears a close up off the same website, no help with identifcation of the unit... http://www.daveswarbirds.com/navalwar/m ... ados2u.jpg
http://www.ww2pacific.com/aaf41.html
states :-
"Fleet float planes, normally 2 for a cruiser and 4 per BB, are not shown. These were typically Curtiss SOC Seagull or the newer Vought OS2U Kingfisher. Japanese photos of battleship row show planes aboard AZ, OK, WV. There were probably 20-30 floatplanes ashore that are not included in landbase counts" were they spares? not attached to units in a kinda pool?
also an observation is there apear to have been Goose amphibians at ford NAS has any one got any art for thease?
any coment or in put would be interestin.
Cheers SamRo
