What I need to know before I buy...

Found CEAW ok - a little too lite for my tastes but interesting none the less.

Some of the new features seem interesting - although I am baffled about the no stacking "Design Decision" comment from someone at slitherine in another thread - I think that statement would have been better recieved by me if it had come with an explanation as to what that decision actually was ? ie you have a choice between stacking and none and you go for none... not saying that is wrong - I cant, because the actual rationale - beyond it being less coding effort ... wasnt explained. Think I am going to have difficulty understanding that one whatever the reason was ... stacking may have made this one an automatic purchase for me ...

HOWEVER - back to my point ... it seems to me, given the lack of FUNDAMENTAL change in the way the game works , this is going to be simply CEAW all over again but with napoleonic graphics ... is it ?

I have the same concerns as DBeves -- I am just not sure how the Napoleonic era could be recreated from a WWII engine without major modification. While 19th century armies would spread out to move and forrage, they would concentrate to fight. I really enjoyed CEAW and even thought the AI was fun to fight against. But I suspect that the "abstraction" that was reasonable inj CEAW for WWII, stretches to the breaking point in the Napolionic era.

That does not mean that the game would not be fun; only that it would not "feel" right.
