After playing a few games this week, I've noticed that the defense bonus is not consistent as to when it kicks in and for how many points. I went into the scenario editor and verified that was the case. Is there a way to assess when the defense bonus will kick in and for how much without using the scenario editor? I would like to know while planning my attack or defense what the time constraints will be.

There isn't a way to find that out from the menu unless the scenario author puts it in the briefing. Plan on the worst case I guess.
