Windows Vista compatability

Hello,

1. Can anyone tell me if Campaigns on the Danube works OK on Windows Vista?

( If you have the game and you use Windows Vista your comments would be particularly useful. )

2. Does anyone know if Matrix are planning to update this game to make it Windows Vista compatable if it needs it?

( If it just needs some user "adjustment/s" to make it work correctly, can anyone please advise the nature and detail of the "adjustment/s" req'd. )

Many thanks.

Perhaps a better question would be: does Vista work with CotD.....!

I installed Campaigns on the Danube on my Toshiba notebook and patched it to v. 2.2 but all I get after starting the game is the title screen. Can anybody help me?

It's possable that the patch/es are in a different folder to the game. That has been the usual cause of this problem in the past. The default folder for the patches for some reason differs from the game default folder!!
If so cut & paste the patch info. into the main game folder ( which should be in the C\Matrix Games folder ).

COD works on my laptop (XP) but doesn't work on my desktop (running Vista) It used to work on my desktop before I upgraded to Vista.

So, I think the answer is NO, it doesn't work on Vista. (Hangs at the opening screen)

I have fixed it. It now runs on my Vista machine.

Here is what I did.

Uninstalled COD. Then, I went to the directories and removed the folders etc. and deleted them to the recycle bin.

Inserted the COD disk. Rather than use the autoplay feature, I just used explorer to find the setup file CampaingsOnTheDanubeSetup.exe

Right click, go to properties, then chose Windows 95 compatibility mode, with dpi scaling for high resolution disabled, and "run as administrator" checked.

Installed the game.

After install, found the CampaingsOnTheDanube.exe file on my computer ( in the folder C:/Matrix Games/Campaigns on the Danube 1805 1809)

Right click on the exe file and use the same Windows 95 compatibility mode settings disable dpi scaling, and checking "run as administrator"

Game now works with Vista!
