Just got this game for my birthday last week and started my first game. All I can say is WOW this game is massive and there is a lot to learn. I currently have a large force of several units trying to finish off Singapore and Bataan. I set one unit to move into the hex in question, set the units objective to the correct target and then hit apply to all units in hex and set all other units to follow. What happens then is that the units don't arrive together and are immediately attacked and forced to retreat due to being outnumbered. Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is? I think you should be able to move several units in as a cohesive force. Any advice for a noob.

Figure out which unit is slowest and have all the others follow it. I usually use something with high fatigue and disruption or an artillery unit. That usually works.

May I add that moving into a hex as one force is extremly important when crossing rivers as this will result in an automatic shock attack by the attacker (river crossing/bridgehead).
This means a) your troops will be noticed by the opponent beccause of the combat occuring and b) piecemeal shock attacking is naturally nonsense.
Welcome to the forum btw., have fun and wave goodbye to your real life. [;)]
