Couple Enhanced Questions

I'm finally going to start playing spwaw again after an absence of a few years. I'm now downloading the game, patches, enhanced patch and enhanced scenario/campaign pack from the depot.
I know many scenarios and campaigns will not work with the enhanced program. So should I just delete all of those before installing the pack? Or is there a list somewhere of the ones that do work?
Is it possible to be reinstated at the depot, or not?

I personally made back up folders of all the original scenarios and campaigns, then moved it out of the spwaw folder for safe keeping, just to make sure I still had them all, also to have for editing if I ever wanted to 'enhance' any of them [;)]
then I installed the enhanced secenario and campaign pack.
I think theres a few new ones around too that are not in the 'pack'
I notice you said 'enhanced patch??
there is no patch, enhanced 2008 is the latest, its found here on this page BTW, up top..

Thanks alby. Back up folders are a good idea. Never thought of that. And sorry I meant enhanced mod.

I personally took all the un-enhanced scenarios, renumbered them into the 8oo series and moved them. I played most of the 8.xx scenarios in enhanced all most (95%) played fine, about 2 % required some minor editing (replacing inf with destroyer for instance in one, proper mortor in another),etc. REALLY They are still fine to play, try playing ENhanced then go back and play Vanilla Version in Enhanced, that way you get the best of both worlds. Hell I even have 7.1 (for Megas) and HTH for fun also. FWIW MHO

I read that stuff in the links you have in your sig and found them interesting. But it seems most scenarios say they're designed to be played with C&C off. So do you just ignore that?

I personally play with "C&C" OFF, Never had time to learn how to use it. Aye, but I like Coca-Cola and some peole like Pepsi, so to each his own, I found my own.......Reminds me of an OLD song, ah, but I digress, I've only played 1500+ various scenarios since version 5.1, and some Megas. rich12545 come back to the fold, play it any way you like, that's whats nice about this old girl.[&o]

I would bet that the designers never play with C&C on. Therefore they don't test it and recommend off.
You could probably play most of them with it on if that is your preference.

I'd change that a bit to "the designers never
design with C&C on." I always play with C&C on, and usually design most of my stuff to be "C&C compatible", but since the majority of players don't use it, it makes more sense to design without it.
The biggest drawback to playing a scenario that was not built to be C&C is that units rarely, if ever, have Objectives set at game start. Thus you have to expend orders right away to get formations moving in the right direction, or digging in.

Whether vs. the AI or in PBEM, I always play with C&C on. The only two exceptions to this is if my PBEM opponent declines to play with C&C, or if I'm playing a mega-campaign (which will crash with C&C on). So yes, I will ignore the scenario's recommendation to have it turned off. It adds an extra dimension of challenge [:)] ... sometimes it may make it too hard to score a victory, buy that's fine by me.
[:)] Have fun!

Is it possible to be reinstated at the depot, or not?
Reinstated?
Why would you need to be reinstated? Members are never "purged" from our list, no matter how long they stay away.

I was banned a few years ago. So I was wondering.

Ummm... Who banned you? I just looked at your account and it's active with no restrictions. I also checked with the rest of the staff and no one remembers you ever being banned.
In any case, your account on the Depot is still there, just the way you left it.

rich,
Your post on October 12, 2005 stated that you were leaving the Depot after you disagreed with some staff and other members over a thread. Voluntarily leaving is not a rules violation at the Depot, so you were not banned, as Bernie stated.
If you have trouble logging in, please inform one of us, and we will get it fixed.

Hmmmmm. Goblin, my recollection is a permanent ban. In fact you and I discussed it by pm. But now it looks like that's not the case. Fine with me.
I just tried to login and was unable to do so. Maybe I forgot my password and I tried to get that. But I no longer have access to the email account I used back then. Anyhow, if you or Bernie or someone could check and pm the password to me here I'd appreciate it. Or maybe change my email from myway to gmail. Thanks.
