i hope it is the right place for it.
Here is the complete description of an other mod based on CHS 155;
it is not a "what if" but rather a more realistic one, i hope[8D]

A few observations.
 
In Australia, Derby supplies resources, what does this represent?
 
Sydney & Melbourne produce Hudsons, this should be Beaufort.
 
Aircraft upgrade, the one for the Wirraway goes to Beaufighter 21 (6/42) - Kittyhawk III - Thunderbolt II - P51D -P51H
The RAAF didnt use the Thunderbolt, The Beaufighter21 should be the IC or VIC and the original Wirraway Sqns converted to all types from Kittyhawk I, Boston , Vengeance & Liberator, a bit hard to show in a mod!

For Derby, i supposed i exagerate.
As resource centers (RC) are now associated with big cities, 100 is excessive. I will correct.
For Thunderbolt, were they used in RAF?
And Beaufighter Mk 21, who used it?

The Thunderbolt was used by the RAF, but the upgrade seems to be in the RAAF Wirraway line. the RAF only used a few Wirraways in Malaya as 21 RAAF Sqn upgraded from the Wirraway to the Buffalo and they were available.
 
The Beaufighter 21 is the Australian made version arriving in late 43ish and was only used by the RAAF.
 
 

A second version of the mod is released: this is Rom 175.1.

I recall that to play this mod, a complete installation CHS 155 is needed.

If you have room you can make a air unit for each aircraft model you fear may become unusable because of upgrades and give it an arrival date of 99999. I did this in my mod. It sems to work ok.

so if i understood well, to solve this possible trouble, you suggest me to create virtual air groups (they won't appear) for each air group and nationnality i want be able to "upgrade" or "downgrade" during the game. And i must do the same for air groups on CV with virtual CV too.
It is a big work but a good idea.

You should not have to do it for the newer models that arrive until the end of the game.

The early stuff like A5Ms, F2As, P-40B, B-17C, et cetera.
