Aircraft running out of fuel bug

I know this has been discussed before, but when is the bug that causes aircraft to inexplicably run out of fuel and crash while returning to base going to be addressed. It only seems to affect certain aircraft, particularly the F-14. I've got to say it's getting pretty annoying [:@]

What version are you running? I have to say, I don't ever see this happening to my aircraft.

What version, what battleset (word on the street says this happens in EC2000), what scenario? Any advice for recreating the problem from scenario start would be appreciated (i.e. send a saved game to
hc3@harpgamer.com showing a LR patrol just before it starts the trip back to base, one you know will run out of fuel).
Thanks

Okay Tony, I've sent you a quick example from EC2000 IOPG 7.0. The scenario was chosen pretty much at random.

Got the file, thanks for sending it over, having an example helps a lot and frankly more often leads to a fix or workaround. Will post what I find in a day or three.

Most recently I've noticed it happens in all of the scenarios in the HDS4 IOPG battleset. I think its been discovered that aircraft are not properly setting their cruise speed when returning to base and are running out of fuel.

I haven't yet looked at the savegame from Warhorse, but I'm curious whether this is happening after you split off shorter ranged aircraft from longer ranged aircraft, e.g. fighter escorts from AEW aircraft? (Credit to Rene Haar for implying a possible link). I virtually never do so (attach escorts directly to another aircraft), so that might explain why I don't see this bug.

Spending some time digging into this tonight. In the EC2000 IOPG 7.0 situation the triggering factor is the F-14B having a faster cruise speed at Low altitude than Medium or High. Making a long story short such a DB entry means the plane gets short-suited in terms of range at any altitude other than Low. Working on a less than perfect work-around (give enough fuel for the expected range at the slowest cruise speed).

A beta build has been sent to the testers with this workaround. You'll see it in the next patch.

I was just playing scenario #5 "Lone Ranger" in the HDSCIII IOPG and noticed this also occurs with the F-18C.
