No Surrenders Victory (of sorts?)

Just wondering if this has been accomplished by others: As the TE and playing vs the AI who attacked via Belgium, Germany surrendered in Jul/Aug 1917. Until then, not a single country had surrendered (Belgium had rebuilt to two corps and an unusable artillery - Belgium and Serbia cannot buy ammo for their artillery - survived), Serbia had all units at full strength as did Romania and Greece. Well, OK, Luxembourg surrendered. Russia had only managed to hold onto Konnigsberg and was "excellent". Italy was still "excellent" too. Germany had control of all its cities but Konnigsberg. AH was still "good" (lost Regina, Sarajevo, Trent, Salzberg, the city bordering Romania, and the East Gallician cities). I was surprised to see Germany as wavering and shortly thereafter surrendered (probably due to all the Kamikaze attacks). Has anyone else had this peculiar ending?

The real WWI had this ending....

Surrender is based on moral loss. Loosing cities is one source for loosing moral, but it is not the only one.

Understood but still, cities have a larger effect then other factors such as troop loss/exhaustion. Anyway, this was only game #9; I'm sure other "interesting" endings will occur.

As far as the real thing, technically true - governments did run off to Great Britain and returned after the war but for all practical purposes (and game purposes), Belgium, Serbia, and Romania ceased to be a factor after a while and Russia capitulated - it took the Soviets nearly 20 years to recover their losses (and then some!).

This wasn't any sort of complaint, BTW as this result could have happened within historic realms. Just curious if others managed this sort of end game.

The way you describe it, Germany had conquered almost nothing. That means that by end 1915 it will run out of food. That will cause massive moral loss. Together with the body count its enough. Food is a decisive element in the game.

Forgot about the food angle. They may have even lost one food area in East Prussia and quite often one of the two shipping units in the Baltic was interrupted by Russian patrols and British subs. In the end, wasn't that the main cause of the German revolution that ended the empire and WW I?
