Sighting Foxholes

I thought MM wasn't placing foxholes properly because when I ran a scenario that used a new map the foxholes weren't being placed on top of a hill. I finally found that I was testing the map as Germans and they were at the bottom of the hill there was no LOS to the foxholes. When testing as Russians who were on top of the hill the foxholes suddenly appeared. Foxholes are the only structure in PCK I know of that are seen per relative sighting.

Mobius,
Something else about foxholes and trenchs regarding the infantry.
In the other thread you mentioned how Pck labeled their foxholes with "hasheight" and how you decided not to. I just had something dawn on me about the whole thing.
First, we know that foxholes and trenched are mountable ... This mounting causes the infantry unit to be partially "buried" into the ground ... effectively blocking the low ray for incoming fire. Now, I know infantry doesn't have hit locations and perhaps not handled the same way as vehicles ... but ...
... What if the incoming fire has the chance to be "deflected by the ground" when the troops are mounted in the foxhole?
Now, to compare the terrain map color ... the foxhole color has similar attributes to the woods terrain color. Notice that during the game it's easier to kill troops in the woods than it is to kill troops mounted in foxholes. This clued me into thinking that the low ray (being under the ground) my play a major role in protecting infantry.
Thoughts? ..... I can't test this now (I'm at work) but when I get home this morning I'm going to see if this is indeed the case.
Rob
EDIT NOTE : I know the hasheight has nothing to do with mounting the foxhole ... the subject is focused on the low ray being blocked when mounting. The hasheight was mentioned because it rang some bells.

I don't think there is any ray issues with foxholes. At least in giving protection. The protection is a lowering of attacking firepower factors not deflecting hits. Foxholes and buildings should give the same protection but it is easier to see infantry in buildings.
I am surprised by the berm giving hulldown protection and not the trench color. What purpose does the trench color serve if not some kind of protection? Maybe it protects infanty?
