Thinking something Dutch, stuff is in metric. maniford pressure ain't real great, and there's double dogs; could be a cockpit slider, could be gear, so maybe an early Curtis, a P-36 or P-40B, maybe?

My guess would by P-40B.

Probably a CW-21 Demon or a CW-22 Falcon.

Do I detect cyrillic characters?  Purely a guess: it's a La-5's panel.

Are you sure about that? Look at the compass label. Also look at the instrument to its left. The label seems to have an umlaut.

It's almost certainly a plane built for the Dutch. The Dutch language has similarities with German. The only German built aircraft in the game is the Do-24 and this is definitely a single engine fighter.

The handles on either side f the gunsight look like gun charging handles, so it is a plane with guns mounted in the cowling. The P-36 and P-40B had those. Some other American built fighters in Dutch service did too. The shape of the instrument panel looks like a P-40B, but the Dutch didn't operate any, so it's probably a P-36 aka Curtiss Hawk built for the Dutch.

Edit: It looks like the guns are .30 caliber, so it may not be a Hawk.

No, I'm not sure about that. A Russian would have spelled it Komnac (where the 'n' is really a 'pi' symbol). But brother Local does have a point, right side, 2/3 way down sure does look like 'veh, yu, erh'. Pic is too grainy to get detail.

It has to be Euro, though. Everything's in metric. Originally thought it was Dutch, and maybe it is, but I wouldn't put it past Brady to throw a real booger onto the kleenex.

What I see there is VYP.6... It seems more like a note on a picture than sign on a cockpit.

But if it was in Russian - then "P" would mean "R", those "Y" would mean "U"(У) or "Tch"(Ч), but there is nothing like "V" in cyrrylics.

If I am right, then we see Czechoslovak or Slovak plane.

PS:trismegistos: Vyp. is common abbreviation to "vypnúť" what means turning off.

Vyskomer is Czech, but I don't know of any Czech built planes or planes built for the Czechs that ended up in the Pacific.

The Dutch Hawk 75s did have .30 caliber guns in the cowling, so my best guess is still a Hawk 75, but the text in Czech has me stumped.

Czech air force in WW2 years and post-WW2 years were operating number of combat aircraft:
UK: Wellington, B-24 Liberator, Huricane, Spitfire
USSR: LA-5, LA-7, Il-2, Po-2, Li-2
ex-German, or slovakia built: Bf-109G, S-199 (Bf-109 built in license), Me-262, Fw-189...
There were also pilots who flew with Polish or french squadrons in 1939/1940.
But I was surprised to see Czechoslovak/Slovak aircraft cockpit in AE [X(]

I think you might be on to something.  The picture might be a post war Czechoslovakian export of a Russian fighter.

It is, suposed to be a Russian LA-5 or LA-7 Cockpit acording my referance, if it is in fact Czechoslovakian writing that was something I was not aware of, So I apoligise for that detail.
 
 My understanding is that their were miniour diferances between the two Panels, and that this is a LA-7.
 
The Charging Linckage actuators are for the ShVAK 20 mm cannons (though it is posable this a late model LA-7 with Berezin B-20 cannons)

I was looking for La-7 cockpit. There are big diferences that mislead me. But there are also some resemblances.

note the left side of the panel. Is it the radio?
