Whenever I start the game a windows panel appears saying 'Device Lost', but it doesn't seem to affect anything. The game operates normally and all devices are OK in Device Manager. I am using Vista and there was a series of warning 'beeps' as the installation completed, but there are no faults showing anywhere in the system. [&:]

Did you actually get any error messages during installation?

There was no error message during installation, but just as the installation completed there were a series of warning 'beeps'. When I initially started the game a vista window opened with 'Device Lost', this happened for the first 4 or 5 times I ran the game. Then the game started without the message for about 3 times until after a long session the game froze, went to black screen then crashed to blue screen. On restart, the display settings had changed to a lower resolution setting and was reporting that 'Vista Aero' was not available. The Windows online help feature noted 'graphics driver update' and Nvidia have issued driver updates this month.

I just need to make sure that Nvidia has the correct update for my grahics card and restore my display settings. The game is working normally after the restart.

When I have got myself back to normal I will see what data I can post. As for the game, I have played this series since they were first issued, they were always near the top of the list as favourites and this one is the same. Early days yet, but you can see some of the improvements. Before it was almost impossible for infantry to hide from tanks, now panzers beware. AI losing lots of men trying to take peripheral objectives in open ground, but war is hell. These are great games and I am sure that they will get even better, Thanks [:)]
