Something I hope is in this game...

Post by Texican »

The mythology of the Battle of the Bulge, or what I call the "Henry Fonda" element.

1. The lone Army Intelligence Colonel flying precariously around in a recon plane or on the ground in a jeep.
2. The Germans dressed up as American MP's, changing road signs.
3. The Malmedy Massacre.
4. And most importantly, this soundrack....

(Maybe it starts up every time you move your main Panzer Kampgruppe or something).

5. The fuel depots AND.... a chance a few hardcore soldiers, maybe just a platoon, can roll the fuel barrels burning down a steep incline and have a small chance of disrupting or damaging whatever panzer unit is trying to capture it.
6. A voiceover of Hermann Goering or someone like that who, stepping out of a staff car after the Germans retake some Belgium town, slaps his gloves in one hand and says in a chastising manner, "So, you thought you would escape the Third Reich, did you now?"

Like I implied, I haven't tried this game, but as a veteran gamer from back around 1970 or so, I have come to believe that human drama is a very important element in wargaming, one often overlooked.

1. No lone Army intelligence officer
2. The americans can be redirected by the saboteurs :)
3. Malmedy ... the rest is up to you
4. No Panzer Leid but an easy MOD to do.
5. Fuel depots are important and benefit the Germans greatly if they capture one.
6.No voice over
