Single corp, again

Again in one of my PBEM games, a single corp with a general was attacked and produced a unilateral combat. Soult with one corp was attacked by Charles and 6 corps. This is a great disavantage due to:
1- Defender cant see size of attacker army
2- Defender AI dont call for Reinf
3- Always have to change the predetermined combat option for every single corp in case its attacked. Yuo will want to change this due to changing possibilities (terrain, number of corps of attacker army, generals in place, etc.)
With this battle, the defender loosed his general and all trops with no reinf and without knowing whats in the attacker army.
We should have an option to play ALL battles, not only defender with multiple corps.

I can only agree to this.
The Austrian Insurrection corps are a joke, since you can outwit their placement, and they choose a random chit witch most of the times means loosing.
Chit choise had in EIA alot to do with how many corps you fought.

Like I've said before, I agree.

So we mainly just want to see a full report of what was in the battle?

I believe that a chit choice for single corps would be a good addition as well.
Moreover, Bresh's point about the Insurrection Corps is correct. They really need to be able to be set up with some sort of Austrian Guidance. I woudl prefer to be able to place them in the Austrian Movement on any round after the border has been crossed, not necissarily the first round.

How about game level options for when to pick a chit and when to let the AI handle it? I can think of three options: Single corps, leaderless forces, never.
And battle reports always, although a lot of people seem against this notion that the strengths from any battle would be known. I have to rely on the other players for information about the game? How do I get this from my AI ally?

The only one I will need is "never", but I heartily concur with the idea. I play this game for two reasons: Diplomacy (read: manipulation of other powers BWUAHAhahahahah!) and picking chits/fighting battles. I love playing this enhanced version of Rock-Scissors-Paper, but when the computer invariably picks "glass", there's a problem.

I would prefer to just let players the choice to play every battles, even with only one corp !

While we are at it...
Would be nice with an option for a single corps NOT to stay for day two of a battle. Impossible to avid as it is now.

I may look at the PBEM quick combat option to also include the single corps battles so that if disabled then ALL battles requires manual chit selection.

is it possible to have an option for siege defender to see the result of a siege battle ? like the last screen of the siege battle, to see the force of the opponent and the dies. Not asking sieges to be done by both player, but just to be able to see it at the end.

Actually, Marshall; instead of having a game-level option of not allowing automated single corp battles;
create a new "Chit selection" of "MANUAL" that can be preset on a corp-by-corp basis.
If someone is attacking a corp that has this as their "defensive" selection then the program
goes to the battle-file-exchange mode.

Along with GWheelock's idea, have a button or interface element that allows you to set all corps to "Manual" at the same time.

I like the idea too, but we should elminate file exchanges for all seige combats, and any combat against just a depot garrison/cossak/guerilla force without any corps present.

for sieges, only the "resumé" of the siege should be profided to the defender. We dont need to see all DoW of the game each time its the end of the diplomacy, but add a screen of a battle résumé when its your next turn to play.
