no supply on beach

I control (allied) Rabual with japan forces on the beach. I have a TF guarding the square so supply can not be delivered for the japan forces. But japan forces are getting supply, I checked this by switching sides. Japan forces have been on beach 2 months but in supply.

Humble,
A couple of things worth mentioning. Number one - do the Japanese hold any of the other bases on the island? If so, they won't get much supply along the trails, but should get a little. Number two - while I wouldn't have given the AI credit for it, check to see if any supplies are being delivered either by sub, air, or both next time you switch sides to check on things. Lastly, if the Japanese invaded you ( early in the game ) and brought lots of supply with the original invasion, they tend to hang on to it for a long, long time if they aren't constantly staging futile attacks, even if you bomb and bombard them regularly. For some odd reason, it's actually much easier to starve units if they are inside a base than if they don't hold the base. I've had units on a hostile beach for over a month getting bombed daily and occasionally bombarded, and their supply situation still looked great since they landed with a bunch of it, and the enemy can't get airfield or port supply hits if you don't HAVE an airfield or a port. If none of the above apply, then more creative minds than I will have to supply an answer, but hopefully something here may help you. Good luck - Alex.

If there are a bunch of units in the same hex, sometimes supply in one will go up when another unit is partially destroyed... not sure if this is a feature or a glitch... i call it the "cannibalization effect", sort of like when air units would strip damaged planes to repair other damaged planes, you could (in effect) generate "supplies" (in this case, spare parts) from other units... i suppose other interpretations of "cannibalization" could be made, esp. with infantry units... What level of dificulty are you playing at? It is my understanding that if you are playing on "very hard" then supply is not a problem for the AI.
