The "Nuts & Bolts" of the Game?

I recall that on the "old" PS forum there was some good info on the intricacies of the game's inner workings. Are these archived somewhere?
It's a shame that no one ever wrote a definitive guide to the "nuts & bolts" of PureSim. To be honest, I never took much interest in tweaking the XML, but some of you are obviously still interested in doing so.

Yes! Thanks, Nukester. Personally, I think 1.72 is fine, but this may serve as a guide to gamers who can't resist tweaking. Remember, guys, this info is a few years old. [:)]

I'd be more interested in seeing some of the other nuts & bolts. Being technically minded and a bit of a number cruncher when it come to gaming, I'd like to see some hints, if not actual calculations, that determine things like whether a batter gets a hit or not, etc.

Yeah, I made a few tweaks to the XML to make it more deadball like for the early days of my league, adjusting pitching fatigue, hook, lower pinch hitting, etc in order to try and get a few more CG out of the early century pitchers, but other than that, I dont mess to much with it. I love the idea of being able to though !!
