Start buttering yourself up, because I seriously doubt you'll see either of these. In any event, even if they did show they'll probably arrive w/ 50 Exp in a theater swarming with 80+ Exp Corsairs, Lightning and Hellcats.
The Allies also have a few types, such as the Mustang and Wellington, which don't show yet are listed in the reinforcement screen.

The George and the Frank (excluding the A7M Sam, or Reppu) were about the best Japanese Navy and Army fighters respectively to see action/service in the Pacific. However by the time they reached front-line units there were precious few good pilots left to fly them (and even less aviation fuel for the planes) and both pilots and base-staff seemed to prefer hanging on to the older models (like the totally outdated Zero) for as long as possible and squeezing every last mile out of them. Some of this 'bias' was due to the fact that the planes were difficult to fly for novice pilots whilst the Zero had been around a long time and everyone was familiar with it. Other factors involve the fact that from Autumn '44 the IJN and JAAF were becoming increasingly occupied with Kamikaze missions, and the Zero's together with their great range + unarmoured fuel tanks almost certainly guaranteed a fire if they hit anything.
So yes, those planes were availble from middle/late '44 onwards but were rarely used. Given scenario 19 with the greater Japanese production emphasis, it is possible they could be included towards the end

You can include them if you use the editor.

How? By having the planes in the squadron straight from it's introduction, or having a replacement stream starting early '44 that will eventually replace the Zero's and the Oscars? (and how do you tinker with replacements using the Editor?)

You would need to have them in a squadron at time of introduction. The problem with this, and why you´ll never see them in a game is because the George and Frank do not have a replacement rate.
So if you do make a squadron to come in late game with George or Frank they´ll never recieve replacements.
Unfortunately changing aircraft replacement numbers cannot be done with the UV editor.

thats something what should be fixed (although i doubt that it will happen with in a old game). adding improved japanese fighters with a replacement rate would make it possible to create very...creativ scenarios.

Actually adding replacement rate to the editor is something that we have been asking for a long time.
For instance the Spitfire also has a replacement of zero which is a genuine problem as No.79 Squadron RAAF (which should be equipped with Spitfire Vc not VIII by the way) is a unit in the stock game.

Thanks, I had been tinkering around with the editor changing the mix and introduction date of squadrons, but I noticed replacement rate was not something one could do anything about.
I suppose one way around it would be to have the fixed sentai strength at 27 planes, but have the squadron strength at about 60+ that way a lot of planes would be in storage until required

This sort of thing has been suggested before where you disband a temporary unit to return the aircraft to the pool.
However, it not so straight forward as this as there has to be another unit with the same type at the same location (IIRC) and the unit reappears 3 months later and will draw aircraft back from the pool. Very messy and definitely requires a coding fix!!
