Yet Another Kharkov 1942 Theme game

Seems the Kharkov battles of 1942 is very popular. Not only a Kharkov operational level and a turn based 1:1 game but now a RST game Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942 . http://www.steelfury.info/

Though it might be a little optimistic to have the Mark IVF2 as the only German tank model to use since it had only a month of production and little or no training in them by the time of battles in May.

I agree, better if they had chosen instead the PzKpfw III Ausf J armed with the 50/60.

My very early take is that it is looking rather promising. A totally different game to PCK of course.

Lovely graphics, physics and animations.

Still early days though.

Oh and for those people who think the PCK map maker and editors are difficult to use, well, umm, let's just say it could be worse ...

The advanced graphics engines of these newer games mandate more complex and time consuming editors. It really is the nature of the beast I am afraid.

Easiest way to find out is to ask. Do a poll to see if those that bought the PC series of games want hundreds of new scenarios made by scenarios designers or a few dozen.

The difference in complexity of a game editor, IMO, is going to equate to roughly that size of scale.

The more difficult it is to use, the more complex it is, the less scenarios will be made by the designers trying to figure it all out.

Is a CM type of editor, with possibly more choices, good enough or do you want every conceivable terrain type in the world in the game editor? I played CM with not much complaints about the graphics. They could have been better but what I was really after was game play and variety.

So, just how important do the gamers that are buying PC think an editor is? And how complex does it need to be?

Could the game do just as well with a CM style editor that is easier to use and make maps with?

Or do you want to see something more complex that will do any representation of all terrain features the earth has to offer?

Here's your chance to tell Matrix what you think.

Good Hunting.

Salutations,

I for one, very seldom purchase any game that does not have an editor.

There are games here that I like very much but they do not have an editor. I refuse to buy them.

Most games without editors are actually limited games(playing wise) with a short lifespan on my hard drives. I want my moneys worth.

But, this is just me. I'm creative and a modder at heart, I suppose.

This probaby deserves a thread of its own, rather than side tracking this one.
