Hi,

Playing the Iraklion Historical Campaign, I get a CTD consistently at 8:00 on D3. This is with v2 of the scenario and on Vista. Save games are available.

Are you running the latest patch/build - ie 3.4.151?

Yes I am. In fact I uninstalled and then reinstalled and patched and ran the scenario at high speed without putting in too many commands just to see if it would crash. It did, at exactly D3 0800.

Are you able to play other scenarios without incident?
 
Have you set your COTA game app to run in XP compatibility mode?
 
If not, Right click on the COTA.exe file in the Game directory and select Properties. Then select the Compatibility tab and from there Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" checkbox and select the appropriate mode - eg Windows XP ( Service Pack 2 ) - from the list box.

Yes to both. I always had it running with XP compat mode and am able to run other scenarios. I'm pretty sure it's a data error cause i tried it quite a few times and it crashes at exactly D30800 each time i try. I've been able to run other scenarios with no issue. For example I figured i'd run Parachutes Over Corinth without any input just to make sure that when I give it a go it won't crash and it went all the way through.

OK, does it crash each time if you start the scenario from scratch?

Hi, just tried it again and it crashed. Some more info: I played as axis, and chose the favour axis reinf schedule. Then I input no orders and ran it at top speed.

OK White Owl that is probably enough for us to check this out. I'm knee deep in code changes at the moment for BFTB. Once I get this BFTB build out I'll take a look at it.

That's cool, no rush at all. In fact, from my point of view at least, it is only one scen out of many, and not worth your time if it is for my sake. Can't wait for BFTB, I know it will be awesome, so definitely please don't take away from your BFTB time for this.

As we have a bit of a problem recreating the error could you drop me a mail containing a savegame which produces a crash so I can test it ?

Upon receiving it I'll send you a savegame which doesn't crash on my system so you can run it to see if the problem is scenario based or something else.

I can start a new thread for this if needed, but I get a CTD in Vista at D2 12:00 in the Tanks at Platamon mission. I've got compatibility mode set to XP2 and I believe I have up to date drivers. I have a savegame just before 12:00 that I can send.

edit: Just saw the thread below with this exact issue, I will try 98/ME compatibility mode. If needed I can also still send the savegame.
