withdraw order

Hi, I've just observed that I could withdraw a single tank during the reaction phase without ordering a general withdraw to my tank platoon (so for example if I have three t34, during reaction I could issue a withdrawal order to one and a fire order to the other two).
In this case, for the soviet, there's no delay in order execution.
I cannot do the same in the order phase. During order phase I have to issue the withdraw order to the platoon commander (so all the tanks of the platoon must withdraw), AND there is a delay in order execution (the order is actually executed in the next phase). That is simply illogical to me.
Bye

The Withdraw order is for an unlimited distance. The withdraw reaction is meant to get a vehicle out of immediate danger and is only about 50m or 100m. So there is a difference.

I have sometimes seen a delay when I give a _rush-ing_ Inf sqd a fire smoke command in the _reaction phase_: it doesn't carry it out until order phase. But if I order a withdrawal in the order phase they will all withdraw during that phase.
I have not seen the withdraw delay though. Are you sure?

As far as its illogic, the _game_ does do gamey things. Think of it like like chess being illogical. I guess that doesn't help your concern though.

Uh... I see through forum surfing that the Russians do have an order delay for withdraw, representing apparently their lack of radios.

Ok, but what i found to be illogical is the delay time for the russian, at least for withdraw in the order phase.
For the russian player is a useless order if I need to wait 40 seconds (next phase) to withdraw, i can simply use withdraw reacton in the reaction phase (which has no delay!), it's the same result.
So IMHO a reduction in the withdraw delay execution for the soviet side is needed (at least the same as defend order, 20 secs).

You don't have a delay right away for a Soviet Reaction withdraw. You can withdraw a short distance. However, you will still pay a delay should the unit continue to withdraw the following orders phase or do anything else. So you don't get a free withdraw without any delay. The delay is just delayed [;)] one phase.
