Can someone tell me how to create the wire.png file that can be used in the scenario editor?
Rob made one for me for my Piepsk map, but now I'm working on a battle template for my WinterRR1 map and would like to see the wire frame for reference.
I loaded the map into Scene Edit, clicked on the children layer to get the wire mesh to show, and adjusted (tilted and zoomed) to get a reasonable view. Then took a screen shot (shift print screen). I pasted that into paint program and then saved as wire.png in the correct map directory as wire.png. But the wire mesh still doesnt show.
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Rick

When in sceneditor click on Scene in the lefthand file tree. Then right below is a round symbol with the name of the folder with _terrain on the end. Click on that.

I'm getting the wire mesh image saved. I can see it with my paint programs, but when I press the button in Templale builder to view the wire mesh, it doesnt show up. Even moving the terrain map around.
Thanks

Have you used Explorer to check if wire.png in in the map folder? Maybe check the spelling.

Rick,
You may need to have the PLAN to go along with the WIRE.
Remember, when you press the "Toggle Plan/Wire Map" button it will first turn on PLAN, then WIRE, then off.
Have you made a PLAN view yet?
That's the only answer I can come up with.

OK, I sorted it out. Apparently you have to have the plan.png as well. The button to display the wire frame toggles from plan to wire, so it needs the plan too.
So now i'll get one of those and experiment a little with the wire. I notice the PCK stock scenario's wire frames and plans look larger than what I'm getting so I'm going to experiment a little.
Thanks!

The screen print size apparently depends on the size of your screen settings. I made some from my wide screen and they were 1600ish and on my smaller puter they were like 800 something.
What I do is set up the scene edit for the plan view. Do a screen print then call up my paint in another window. Make the plan.png. Then change the scene edit to wire and do another screen print. Switch to the paint window and make the wire. This has the wire and the plan matching the exact same angle and size.
Minimizing Scene edit causes some sort of error for me so I just have it in the background when I'm working in the paint program.

Sounds like a good plan! I'll try that approach. Most of the scrn shots i'm getting are in the 800-900 x 450-500 range.
I also have the problem with crashes if I try to minimize Scene Edit.
Thanks,
Rick
