Reaction Phase

Is there any reaction phase like JA2? I'm noticing that during their turn, the enemy runs right up to my guys w/o me being able to fire off a shot. Makes it difficult to avoid those grenades.

HG has interrupts (as does JA2). The problem is that they don't work well at all. It's a pretty broken part of the game.

Yeah, I've fought through roughly seven sectors now, and remember getting an interrupt exactly twice. That can't be right.

I dread interrupts in this game so count yourself lucky top only have gotten two.
The reason: If you get an interrupt and the enemy does nothing after your interrupt then none of your mercs APs get refreshed, basically giving the enemy a second turn to your one turn.
Also interrupts happen even if you have less APs than it takes to fire. I have seen mercs with no APs get interrupts along with mercs who had 1 or 2 APs, but I don't think I Have ever had a merc with no APs get one himself.
