Don't know if this is a bug or not or I just messed up some way. In 1861 December I tried to build some gun ships. I got 5 gunships on order for December in July or August. When I got to December I did not recieve the ships. I am now in february and they still have not given them to me. They just continue to stay in the Que for next month. Every month it tells me I still have the 5 gunships in production but they never show up to use them. What must I do to get these ships. Did I make too many of them at a time or what.


Also I have at least 6 different units on hold. Do they ever finish the production of these units. If not how do you get them out of the que. Unable to click on them now to halt production of these units or to clear them. If this keeps up I will have a whole box of these on hold units eventually. Can someone explain to me how or why I got so many on hold units. What am I doing wrong in my supply requests to cause so many on hold units.

Do you have population available in the states where they are being built? Look in the middle of the production screen and see if you have negative population (that means you are trying to build too many items at one time). Some areas (like Washington DC) get few population points, so you have to be careful. Where are you building the ships? Remember, not only do you need the production points throughout construction, but you need the population points on the turn the unit is completed to fill out the unit (otherwise it just stays on the production track).

Be very careful building in the Neutral territorries- including Washington DC- you can start something but it will need the population to pop out at the end. Better to have those areas just producing supply points.
  You can put things you are building on hold or even disband them and end their builds- I never repair wounded infantry- I turn them off until I get two units in a region to rebuild- then I combine them- Cavalry I usually rebuild- they are worth it- Cavalry is the most vital part of your army- always build cavalry. Before you build them though, turn them on and off to see how much it drags down the population- try to not go in the negative. When In doubt dont build- it is better to just have the supply points.
